Using Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet for Monitoring Your Diet

Most of the time, successful diet plans are based on the simple basis that you need calories that your body could burn. Taking calories more than what your body could handle results to increase fat percentage and an increase in weight at the same time. If you're trying to lose weight, there are different theories and other activities that are most of the time effective especially if you use a tool that gives you the motivation to work harder in achieving your goals. Most often, people think that a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet is only used for planning financial budget or for other purposes which are used in the office. What most people should know now is that a spread sheet, is more powerful than what people think they are. A spreadsheet in Excel isn't just about computing the average costs and expenses, it is not just for creating formulas that will help you in your accounting problems, tasks and other numerical data computation, but it could be used in our daily lives.
Excel spreadsheets also allow you to create a formula or compute your daily calorie intake. This also provides both visual and numerical presentation of data for you to be motivated. If you can actually see your goals and use these values for personal gain, why not take advantage of the powerful Microsoft Excel tool that we are all familiar of. There are many reasons why using a spreadsheet could be helpful - some of these are:
1. Through Excel, one could create a template spreadsheet so you could monitor your monthly performance without formatting the cells all over the again. You can customize your template or find something online. You'll be surprised that there are default templates available for counting calories and templates which are actually meant for helping you lose weight. Some templates have graphical representation, while some others have pre-loaded formulas and the only thing that you need is to enter specific data into the form.
2. Microsoft Excel can be accessed through your computer, online or even a mobile device. This means that you could keep track of your performance and how well you're doing, while given the opportunity to bring it with you everywhere you go. Most mobile phones these days such as the iPhone has a Microsoft Excel application and you can use this and utilize this form of technology to remind you of the calories that you should ONLY take for the entire day / week.
3. A spreadsheet in Excel could also be customized and you may change the colors depending on your preferences. These colors however, are not meant to design the sheet, but these are created and added to make sure that you could easily read and understand the data that you have entered. Just in case you need to review a couple of sheets back, you can easily understand all the numerical values listed in there.
